Direct answer
To apply for an Indian medical visa from Bangladesh you generally need a letter from the hospital where you plan to be seen, plus supporting medical documents the mission asks for. We help you request that letter from a licensed hospital in Chennai after an appointment request is in motion. We cannot issue the letter ourselves, and we cannot guarantee that a visa will be granted.
What the invitation letter usually contains
Formats vary by hospital. Letters commonly name the patient (and attendant), passport numbers, the department or reason for visit, and a proposed date range. Some hospitals also generate a medical-visa reference number through government systems for the online application form (applicants and facilitators have referred to this as an AYUSH-portal reference since 2025). Always match the live fields on Indian Visa Online.
Documents we typically need to start the hospital request
Do not upload sensitive reports on the public website form. After contact we will tell you how the hospital wants files sent.
- Patient passport copy (valid at least six months is commonly required)
- Attendant passport copy, if a family member is travelling
- Contact number and email
- Preferred Chennai campus or department, if you have one
- Travel window — hospitals set actual dates
How coordination works with us
This is logistics, not a visa-decision service.
- Share contact details and which department you want to request.
- We file the appointment and invitation-letter request with the hospital desk.
- The hospital reviews and, if they agree, issues the letter (timeline depends on them — often a few working days once their file is complete).
- You apply at an Indian Visa Application Centre in Bangladesh (Dhaka, Chittagong, Rajshahi, Sylhet, or Khulna, as currently operating) or through the official online process the mission publishes.
- After a visa is granted, we coordinate flights, hotel, and airport pickup around the hospital dates.
Rules change — verify officially
On 28 June 2026 India resumed standard tourist and business visa intake for Bangladeshi nationals at the five centres above. Medical visas had continued on urgent/humanitarian grounds during the 2024–2026 tightening and continue alongside other categories. Slot volume and document lists change. Confirm on the High Commission of India, Dhaka channels and https://indianvisaonline.gov.in before you apply. This page is coordination information, not legal advice.
Questions
- Can Well Off Healthcare issue a visa invitation letter?
- No. Only the hospital (or another authorised medical facility) issues it. We coordinate the request.
- How long does the letter take?
- It depends on the hospital’s international-patient desk and whether their file is complete. We follow up and update you; we do not control their queue.
- Do you charge for visa approval?
- We coordinate facilitation. Consular fees are paid to the visa centre. Hospital clinical fees are paid to the hospital. We will be transparent about any coordination fee before you proceed.
- Can an attendant get a letter too?
- Usually the hospital can include an attendant on the same request if you provide their passport details. The mission still decides each visa.
Well Off Healthcare is a medical tourism facilitation service. We do not provide medical services, diagnosis, or treatment.
